React Job: QE Test Automation Engineer

We are looking for a QE Test automation engineer to help build out our test automation capability and coach and upskill existing testers who are more familiar with manual testing. We use Cypress and Postman as our test framework with React, REST and .NET application stack.

Responsibilities:

• Automation testing capabilities and the ability to create frameworks where there is none
• Familiarity with CypressIO is mandatory and further experience with other automated frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber / BDD highly regarded
• Test management tools such as JIRA
• Proven ability in working across multiple projects simultaneously and an ability to meet time frames
• Develop test plans, test cases and automated test scripts using automated test tools
• Interpret, execute, record and evidencing test cases in accordance with project test plans
• Analyse and report test activities and results
• Work closely with the stakeholders to create functional and non-functional test cases and test data
• Manual and automation testing
• Use industry best practices while creating test cases to ensure reliability and reusability
• Identifying analysing defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in software outputs, services and content
• Operate within a scrum team framework.
• Contributing to the QA practice involving document writing and the regression suite
• Design and manage effective, reusable and maintainable test automation frameworks and test suites
• Work with product and engineering teams to plan, develop and execute test cases and suites
• Work with business analysts, developers, and quality analysts to integrate test scripts (Unit, sanity, system, regression, integration)

Experience Required:

• Prior experience in a similar role is essential
• Knowledge of testing software is essential
• Experience with C#, and SQL Server, .NET, ReactJS and REST
• 5+ years experience demonstrated automation (integrated) testing development
• 5+ years experience demonstrated JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience in agile methodology
• Scripting experience
• Familiarity with the banking industry would be an added advantage
• Experience in testing APIs, webservices, and webpages
• Knowledge of Git, for Source Control, with knowledge of Jira, Confluence and test management tools
• 3+ years experience with Cypress, Cucumber and Postman is ideal
• Experience within the energy and utilities market /domain preferred
